Pro-life Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
Except in the very narrow case where the life of the Mother is at stake, and the pregnancy itself is the proximate cause of the risk to the Mother's life.
Yes Do you support United States' combat operations in Afghanistan?
No Do you support a timetable for withdrawal from Afghanistan?
As long as there are Soldiers at risk, I will support them in all of their needs. However, without substantial mission and goal changes, I think our effective use of military personnel in Afghanistan has ended. A timetable gives our enemy usable intelligence, and should not exist in the public discourse.

Indicate which proposals you support (if any) for balancing the federal budget. In order to balance the budget,

No do you support reducing defense spending?
Yes do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
Yes do you support reducing Medicaid spending?
Yes do you support reducing Medicare spending?
Yes Is balancing the budget a legislative priority?
Tying taxes to income was a bad choice and provides a disincentive for earning, saving, and investing --- all things that create a robust economy. The Fair Tax appears to me to be the most effective and beneficial replacement. As a consumption/sales tax, it frees up earning, saving, and investing for everyone. The system to collect sales taxes is already in place and functional. An "everyone pays something" Flat Tax is my second choice for tax reform if we keep an income tax. Defense/military is one of the Constitutional duties of the Federal Government. Medicare/Meidcaid are 10th Amendment issues.
No Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
1) If we can finally enact term limits for Representatives and Senators, then campaign contributions will become less of an issue. Term limits helps to break the ties to special interests, and reduces power of staff, bureaucracy, and lobbies. Career Politicians give the big money corporations and unions easy targets to pay and sway. 2) Replacing the current tax code and the IRS with the Fair Tax makes it much less possible for Congress to craft loopholes and pick winners and losers. These loopholes and special legislation "favors" are what the big money is paying for right now.
Yes Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
Some crimes deserve capital punishment, and I am also in favor of life without the possibility of parole for serious crimes.
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
No Do you support providing tax incentives to businesses for the purpose of job creation?
No Do you support spending on infrastructure projects for the purpose of job creation?
No Do you support the temporary extension of unemployment benefits?
Yes Do you support the 2010 temporary extension of tax relief?
It is not the Federal Government's job to pick winners and losers, act as venture capital for private corporations, or spend for Unconstitutional reasons. We do not have a Revenue problem, we have a SPENDING problem. We can not now nor will we ever be able to afford a cradle to grave nanny state.
No Do you support requiring states to implement education reforms in order to be eligible for competitive federal grants?
The problem with sending money to Washington to do anything is that it is NOT cost efficient. For every dollar that the Federal government takes in taxes, less than 50% is returned to the benefit of We the People. And, most of that return comes with strings attached, usually things which the Founders never intended the Federal government to be involved in in the first place. The remaining dollars stay in Washington to sustain a bloated bureaucracy that exists to gain power and grow ever larger.
Yes Do you support reducing restrictions on offshore energy production?
Drill, baby, drill. I am very much in favor of companies pursuing solar, nuclear, wind, and any new energy technology that might move us forward. But right now, today, our economy was built on oil, natural gas, and coal. I am not in favor of laws or restrictions, such as Cap-and-Trade, that will damage the very industries that run our economy. And carbon credits are just another way for people to trade paper and manipulate markets.
No Do you believe that human activity is contributing to climate change?
No Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
I do not believe the government has the right to regulate any gas that I breathe out as a normal and natural part of my Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness.
No Do you support restrictions on the purchase and possession of guns?
The Constitution affirms the right of every law abiding citizen to keep and bear arms. I do not believe the Government has the authority to abridge this right except for certain individuals found guilty of committing serious criminal acts and ruled to be a danger to the populace. The Supreme Court ruled for the first time on 06/27/2008 that the 2nd Amendment explicitly protects Americans' right to own guns for self-defense, resolving this Constitutional dispute. On 06/28/2010 the Supreme Court extended the federally protected right to keep and bear arms to all 50 states. I concur.
Yes Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act?
No Should individuals be required to purchase health insurance, as mandated in the 2010 Affordable Care Act?
The Constitution does not allow the Federal Government the right to force private citizens to purchase any product --- but Doctors and Hospitals shouldn't be required to give care to adults who have chosen not to purchase health insurance and can't or won't pay for the care they need. These are the choices and consequences of personal responsibility. It is time for a Personal Responsibility Renaissance in America! I am tired of all the excuse making and blame game that goes on as people try to dodge the consequences of their own actions and choices.
Yes Do you support requiring illegal immigrants to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
No Do you support allowing illegal immigrants, who were brought to the United States as minors, to pursue citizenship without returning to their country of origin?
Yes Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration law by state and local police?
As a sovereign country, America has the right to establish the numbers of legal immigrants accepted through legitimate processes. The Immigration and Naturalization Act (INA) needs to be enforced by all law enforcement. We need to close and enforce ALL of the borders of the United States --- north, south, east, west, land, air, and sea. and send persons illegally here home when apprehended. I would support Legal Workforce Act (H.R.2885) for verification of employee legal status.
No Do you support same-sex marriage?
Yes Do you support targeting suspected terrorists outside of official theaters of conflict?
Yes Should the U.S use military force in order to prevent Iran from possessing a nuclear weapon?
Yes Do you support allowing individuals to divert a portion of their Social Security taxes into personal retirement accounts?
Give workers a choice between a public system and private plan. People working and paying taxes into the system should have the option of remaining in Social Security or moving to a private plan. Those who choose private would have to deposit part of their Social Security payroll taxes into their private retirement account. These funds would be invested in stocks, bonds and real assets that would fund the workers' retirement and other benefits covered by Social Security. At death, private account balances would become part of the deceased's estate instead of becoming government property.

I am a Constitutional small Federal Government and 9th-10th Amendment advocate.
We all know, and most of us accept, that it's going to take some of our money to run the government, and to provide for the things enumerated in the Constitution. The economy, our individual personal wealth, is the lifeblood of our nation. I think tying taxes to income was a very bad choice. It provides a disincentive for earning, saving, and investing --- all things that create a robust economy. I have looked at proposed tax alternatives, and the Fair Tax appears to be the most effective and beneficial. The Flat Tax is my second choice for tax reform.
The economy is paramount. We MUST make the hard choices and CUT government spending NOW --- there's no alternative. We must do away with Unconstitutional Federal programs, agencies, and departments. I'll do what's necessary to cut spending and fix the economy. I won't be one of the "good ol' boys," or go along to get along. I'll say what I mean, and mean what I say. I'm not for sale, I'm hard to bully, and I don't do politically correct. We won't always agree, but you will know where I stand --- for the Constitution and the rule of law.
